KDP Cover Layout Adjustment
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a small fix to a 5×8 KDP paperback cover (472 pages, 11.43 × 8.25 inches with 0.125" bleed). The artwork content currently sits too close to all four edges, causing clipping at the trim line. Please:
Extend the dark cloud and water background by approximately 0.15 inches on all four outer edges to create proper safety margin
Ensure all text and important imagery (title, author name, drop caps, decorative ornaments, photo) sit safely within the safe zone (0.25" inside trim)
Maintain proper spine alignment for 472-page book
Text ABOUT THE AUTHOR needs to be be raised, or font changed to allow for a 2"x1.2" spaceholder for the bar code beneath it.
Return file as 300 DPI PDF or PNG, ready for KDP upload
Do not change typography, photo placements, or design elements.
