I’m creating a fictional mystery story aimed at children aged 6-8 and need a complete picture book ready for print and digital release. The project covers everything from crafting an engaging, age-appropriate narrative to delivering colorful illustrations that keep early readers turning pages.
Scope of work
• Story: 500–700 words, simple vocabulary, strong hook, gentle suspense, and a satisfying resolution suitable for young readers.
• Illustrations: Full-page, full-colour artwork that matches the plot and supports comprehension, approximately one illustration per spread (24–30 pages total).
• Layout: Print-ready PDF plus separate high-resolution illustration files (PSD, AI, or PNG).
• Extras: Front cover design, title page, and short author’s/illustrator’s note.
Acceptance criteria
• Language, plot, and imagery appropriate for 6- to 8-year-olds.
• Consistent main characters and visual style throughout.
• Final files pass common print standards (CMYK, 300 dpi, bleeds).
