Technical Writer – Product Documentation (Electronics & Lighting)
I’m looking to bring in a skilled technical writer who can own the full lifecycle of our product documentation for a growing line of electronics and lighting components.
My immediate priority is developing a set of product data sheets and catalogs. Some documents will be refreshed versions of existing legacy PDFs, while others will be created from scratch using raw specifications, CAD drawings, compliance reports, and product photography.
This role is ideal for someone who is both technically fluent and visually detail-oriented, with experience producing professional, production-ready documentation.
What I’ll Provide
Existing data sheets (PDF and Word), source images, and engineering specifications
A rough brand style guide, including logo and color palette
Access to engineers for technical clarification and review
What I Need Delivered
Automated templates with Adobe layout files linked to Excel-based data sources for efficient updates and version control
A clean, reusable master template (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or comparable tool) supporting both A4 and US Letter, optimized for print and web PDFs
Updated legacy data sheets—copy-edited, reformatted, and visually aligned with the new template
Newly created data sheets for recently released SKUs, written from scratch using the same structure and style
Press-ready and web-ready PDFs, along with fully editable source files
