Editor & Designer for Adult Lifestyle Magazine
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Editor and Publisher with strong design capabilities to support the production of a high-quality adult lifestyle online magazine published via Issue (Issuu) or a similar digital magazine platform.
This magazine will focus on the adult lifestyle community and will include:
Feature articles and opinion pieces
Health, safety, and community education content
Event listings and promotions
Advertising for venues, events, and suppliers
This is an ongoing role with the potential to grow alongside the publication.
Key Responsibilities:
Compile supplied written content into a polished, professional digital magazine
Design and format layouts suitable for online publication (desktop and mobile)
Manage publication through the Issue platform, including uploads and updates
Ensure consistency in branding, typography, and overall visual presentation
Integrate advertisements seamlessly into the magazine layout
Prepare final versions for editorial review and approval
Make revisions based on editorial feedback prior to publication
Maintain production timelines and publication schedules
What We Will Provide:
All written content (articles, ads, event listings)
Branding assets (logos, colour palettes, style guidance where applicable)
Editorial direction and final approval prior to publication
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience editing and publishing digital magazines or similar publications
Strong working knowledge of Issue (Issuu) or equivalent platforms
Solid graphic design skills (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, or similar)
Excellent attention to detail and layout aesthetics
Comfortable working with adult-themed content in a professional manner
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
Highly Regarded (but not essential):
Experience with advertising layouts and sponsor content
Knowledge of digital publishing best practices
Experience with social media-ready exports or promotional assets
Familiarity with adult lifestyle, events, or community-focused publications
Engagement Type:
Freelance / Contract
Paid per issue or by agreed milestone (open to discussion)
