Cutlines for Oversized Event Images
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I have a batch of high-resolution images that will be printed at over 12 inches tall and used as stand-out elements in an upcoming event décor setup. Before I send them to the printer I need precise vector cutlines created around each image so they can be contour-cut cleanly on a flatbed cutter/plotter.
You will receive the image files (mix of photos, illustrations, and a few logos) along with any size notes. Your task is to:
• Open each file in Illustrator or a comparable vector tool
• Trace an accurate path that follows the visible edge of the subject, smoothing where necessary but keeping detail where it matters
• Place the path on its own layer, named “CUTLINE,” set to a 1-pt stroke, no fill
• Ensure the path is closed, no stray anchor points, and offset by 1–2 mm for safe cutting, depending on the complexity of the shape
• Save and return the artwork in AI and PDF formats ready for production
Acceptance criteria
– Every file includes exactly one closed cutline layer, clearly labeled
– No overlaps, gaps, or double paths
– Files open error-free in the latest Illustrator and VersaWorks/RIP software tests at my end
Turnaround: 24–48 hours once you have the files. If you have experience preparing contour cuts for large-format printers and can spot common production pitfalls (bleed, nested shapes, registration marks) you’ll get this done quickly. I’m online frequently and can clarify anything as you work.
