Children’s Book Illustration Revamp

Job ID: 40405341

Budget: $250 – $750 AUD

I already have a complete children’s book laid out in PDF, including every page’s script and my own draft illustrations. What I need now is an illustrator who can elevate those drawings so they look truly publication-ready.

Here’s what I’m after:
• Character redesign – please keep the personality of each character but re-draw them with cleaner lines, stronger expressions, and a style that feels cohesive across the book.
• Bright, vibrant colour work – the palette should jump off the page in a kid-friendly way without overpowering the text.
• Detail refinement on everything: backgrounds, characters, and the smaller objects that tie each scene together. Subtle textures and depth will help the pages feel polished.

Once the artwork is refreshed, I’ll need the book re-compiled:
1. Print-ready PDF that matches standard trim sizes for children’s picture books.
2. A Kindle-ready file (KF8 / fixed-layout EPUB), keeping text placement exact so nothing shifts on smaller screens.

If you’re comfortable with the KDP dashboard, a quick walkthrough or light assistance during the upload stage would be a bonus—I’m new to that part.

You can work in Procreate, Photoshop, Illustrator, or whichever tool you prefer as long as the final files are layered and editable for any last-minute tweaks. Let me know your typical turnaround and how many revision rounds are included; I’m aiming for a smooth, collaborative process and a book that’s ready to delight young readers the moment it hits Amazon.
