Adobe Experience Manager Developer Needed to Set Up Local Dev Environment and Project Skeleton
Budget: $10 – $25 USD
I’m looking for an experienced Adobe AEM developer who can help me set up a working local development environment and create a clean base structure for an AEM project. The goal is not to build a full production project but to establish a proper technical foundation so I can continue development independently.
This includes installing and configuring the required tools, creating a Maven-based AEM project structure, connecting it to GitHub, and walking me through the deployment and component development workflow.
Scope of work:
Help with installing and configuring:
Java (correct version for AEM SDK)
Maven
AEM SDK / local runtime (Author instance required, Publish optional)
Optional: Dispatcher setup for later development
Create a standard AEM project skeleton using recommended best practices (AEM Archetype or similar), including:
core module (Sling Models, business logic)
ui.apps (HTL, clientlibs, editable templates, policies)
ui.content (sample content and structure)
testing setup (optional but preferred)
Git setup:
Initialize repository locally
Push project to GitHub
Recommend a branching or versioning approach
Build a simple example component:
A basic component (for example text, banner, or teaser) to demonstrate how the system works
Deploy it to the local instance
Validate that it works in the editor
Provide a short written README with:
How to start the instance
How to deploy
Where the project files are located
How to extend components
How we will work:
We will work live via screen sharing (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar). You will guide me step-by-step, but I will perform the actions. Remote desktop control will not be used.
Requirements:
Experience with AEM 6.5 or AEM as a Cloud Service development
Knowledge of Sling Models, HTL, Maven, and Core Components
Ability to explain steps clearly
Experience setting up AEM SDK locally is required
If you already have access to a working AEM playground environment, that is a plus.
