Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced 3D Model Designer / CAD Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise and high-quality 3D models and CAD designs of jewelry based on provided images and specifications. Your work will play a crucial part in bringing our customers’ personalized designs to life and enhancing their shopping experience through realistic visualizations and AR try-ons.
Key Responsibilities
1. CAD Modeling for Manufacturing:
• Create accurate CAD models of jewelry designs for manufacturing purposes.
• Ensure models meet all technical requirements and standards for production.
• Collaborate with the production team to refine designs for manufacturability.
2. 3D Modeling for Visualization:
• Develop detailed and realistic 3D models for customer visualization.
• Prepare and optimize models for augmented reality (AR) applications, enabling customers to virtually try on jewelry pieces.
3. Rendering and Animation:
• Produce high-quality, hyper-realistic rendered images of jewelry designs.
• Create animated videos showcasing products from various angles and in different settings.
• Utilize advanced rendering techniques to enhance visual appeal.
4. Design of Marketing Materials:
• Assist in designing marketing assets during downtime, including posters, images, and promotional videos.
• Work closely with the marketing team to ensure visual consistency across all materials.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
• Liaise with the design and development teams to align on project requirements and timelines.
• Provide input on design improvements and innovative concepts.
6. Quick Turnaround Delivery:
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on meeting tight deadlines.
• Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery of models and designs.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
• 2-3 years of experience in 3D modeling and CAD design, preferably within the jewelry industry.
• Demonstrated experience with creating models for both manufacturing and visualization purposes.
Technical Skills
1. CAD Software Proficiency: Expertise in industry-leading CAD tools such as Rhino 3D, MatrixGold, JewelCAD, or SolidWorks.
2. 3D Modeling and Rendering:
a. Proficient in 3D modeling software like Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
b. Experience with rendering software such as KeyShot, V-Ray, or similar.
3. AR Model Preparation:
a. Familiarity with preparing and optimizing models for AR applications.
b. Knowledge of file formats like GLB and USDZ.
4. Design and Editing Tools:
a. Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
b. Experience with video editing tools is a plus.
