Resize Honey Jar Label Designs
Budget: $75 – $150 USD
PRODUCTION DESIGNER NEEDED FOR EXISTING HONEY LABEL SYSTEM
I’m looking for an experienced packaging or production designer to help expand and organize an existing honey label system.
The core branding and visual direction are already established. This project is primarily about accurately updating existing designs, building additional label layouts, and creating a clean, repeatable production system across multiple honey varieties, container sizes, and product categories.
PROJECT STRUCTURE AND FIRST MILESTONE
This is a larger label-production project that will begin with one small paid milestone to confirm fit.
FIRST MILESTONE BUDGET: $75–$150 FIXED PRICE
TURNAROUND: WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RECEIVING THE FILES
The first milestone will include:
• Updating one existing honey label using the established design system
• Preserving the current branding, dimensions, typography, and layout
• Creating the required front and/or back label
• Correctly placing the supplied product name, SKU, UPC, net weight, warnings, and other copy
• Organizing the Adobe Illustrator file clearly
• Preparing a print-ready PDF and a proof PDF
• Delivering the editable Illustrator file
• Including one reasonable revision round
This is not a request for a new branding concept. The purpose of the first milestone is to evaluate accuracy, Illustrator organization, print-production knowledge, communication, and the ability to follow an established system.
Applicants should only apply if they are interested in and available for the larger project immediately after the first milestone. If the first milestone is completed successfully, the selected freelancer will be expected to continue building additional label variations through additional fixed-price milestones.
SCOPE OF WORK
The freelancer may be asked to:
• Update existing honey label designs while preserving the established branding and style
• Create new label variations using existing artwork, typography, colors, and layout rules
• Adapt designs to multiple label sizes and orientations
• Build clean, repeatable Adobe Illustrator templates
• Maintain consistent placement of logos, product names, flavor-profile information, net weights, warnings, UPCs, and other required elements
• Prepare organized, print-ready files
• Check bleed, trim, safe areas, image resolution, color settings, linked assets, and font handling
• Prepare files for white stock, transparent film, white underprinting, metallic ink, or foil
• Clearly organize layers for artwork, white ink, metallic elements, dielines, and print notes when applicable
• Export appropriate proof and production files
• Follow an established naming and folder system
PROJECT GOAL
The goal is to create a label system that is easy to repeat, update, and maintain.
I need to be able to create or request additional honey varieties without rebuilding every label from scratch. The finished files should be structured so artwork, product names, colors, barcodes, tasting notes, and other variable content can be updated consistently.
This is not a full branding project. I am not looking for a major redesign unless a specific adjustment is requested.
EXISTING MATERIALS
I will provide:
• Existing Adobe Illustrator label files
• Established fonts and colors
• Botanical and landscape artwork
• Existing front and back label examples
• Product names, sizes, SKUs, UPCs, and required copy
• Printer specifications and production notes
• Examples of the current decorative artwork and transparent background elements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Please apply only if you have strong experience with:
• Adobe Illustrator
• Packaging or label production
• Print-ready file preparation
• Bleeds, dielines, safe areas, and prepress requirements
• Linked versus embedded artwork
• Spot colors, white ink layers, metallic ink, or foil setup
• Maintaining consistency across a large family of related products
• Organizing complex files so another designer can easily update them later
Experience with food packaging, honey labels, beverage labels, cosmetics, or other product families is especially helpful.
IMPORTANT
Accuracy and organization are extremely important. Some labels may look similar but use different container sizes, SKUs, UPCs, net weights, or front-and-back configurations.
Please do not substitute information, rename products, change UPCs, alter established dimensions, or make broad design changes without approval.
If you encounter a technical problem or are unsure how to complete something, please use AI as a troubleshooting resource rather than spending excessive time stuck on the issue. Do not use AI to invent product information, UPCs, dimensions, print specifications, copy, or design decisions. Ask me whenever the correct answer cannot be confirmed from the supplied files.
WHEN APPLYING
Please include:
1. Examples of packaging or label systems you have produced
2. Examples showing multiple variations built from one design system
3. A brief explanation of how you organize Illustrator files for repeat production
4. Your experience preparing white ink, metallic ink, or foil layers
5. Your proposed fixed price for the first milestone
6. Confirmation that you can complete the first milestone within 24 hours
7. Confirmation that you are available for the larger project immediately afterward
8. Your availability for the next week
9. Your preferred pricing structure for additional label variations or milestone batches
