Finalizing Non-fiction Book Cover Design
Budget: $45 – $50 AUD
Book Cover Finishing — Photoshop 2026 PSD FILES
I have an existing layered Photoshop book cover file for a nonfiction paperback and hardback (8.5×11 and 8.25×11). I have changed the front image on the 8.5x11 PSD, and need the text to pop on the new background, and also new text for the back cover.
Process: Do work in the larger size (8.5x11) to complete. And after approved, save a copy in the 1/4 inch smaller width size, and check/adjust against the Amazon template for that (8.25x11) size.
You will return two completed photoshop PSD files.
The creative work is done — I just need a experienced desktop publisher to do final polish and deliver press-ready Photoshop masters.
The work (approximately 1–2 hours total PHOTOSHOP 2026):
Add a subtle dark gradient behind the title on the front cover so the gold text pops more clearly
Clean up the title text layer styles — replace rough stroke with a refined drop shadow
Add a subtle drop shadow to the subtitle text
Add a subtle dark overlay or shadow behind the hook line at the bottom of the front cover so it reads clearly at thumbnail size
Replace the back cover body text with new copy I will provide (same styling, content replacement only)
Place barcode in existing placeholder on back cover
Tidy back cover margins and clean up author photo mask
Smooth the spine gradient transition
Deliverables: Two updated layered PSD files.
Both files already have the KDP template and guides set up. This is finishing work only — no design decisions required.
Open to quotes from experienced book cover designers or desktop publishers with KDP print experience.
