Eclectic Tea Parlour Design
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
The ground floor of our 1890s Victorian is ready for its next life as a tea parlour that feels part Alice-in-Wonderland retreat, part Moroccan hideaway, and part whimsical library. The brief is to capture an eclectic spirit—featuring art and unique theatrical elements —without losing the intimate, cozy atmosphere that invites guests to linger over tea flights and pastries.
Scope
• Translate the vision into a cohesive concept board featuring the display prep area (next to kitchen) and 3 themed rooms for seating: Alice in Wonderland meets Salvador Dali; pattern-rich Moroccan tea room; whimsical library that features Sacramento history
• Develop a detailed design plan, building upon existing architectural design plan that has been submitted to City
• Curate a balanced mix of vintage and new furniture, in addition to design elements that bring to life the three themes, with a DIY type budget
• Provide a color palette, lighting scheme, and material schedule that makes the space unique and viral in its drama
• Source items (or close alternatives) with links or vendor details so purchasing can begin immediately.
• Optional but appreciated: 3D visuals or renderings to help the contractors and pastry chef see the final look.
Acceptance Criteria
1. Concept board clearly illustrates the three inspiration threads and a unified palette.
2. Floor plan maximizes 1000 sq ft of usable space while meeting local code for a small tea-service venue.
3. Furniture and décor list includes suggested pieces, and DIY or fabricated elements that bring the themes to life
4. All deliverables delivered digitally in editable formats (PDF and native design files).
Timeline and collaboration tools are flexible—Adobe Creative Cloud, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar are fine as long as files remain editable. I’ll share existing architectural design plans upon request. Looking forward to seeing a bit of magic stitched together for this unique little parlour.
