Ancient India Documentary Video Editing

I’m building a new YouTube channel that explores the mysteries, legends, and verified history of Ancient India. Each episode is anchored by a talking-head presentation I’ve already recorded; what I need now is a skilled hand to transform that raw footage into an engaging, well-paced documentary that feels both serious and entertaining.
Style & tone
The final cut should strike a balanced mix of in-depth scholarship and captivating storytelling—think the clarity of Nitish Rajput or Dhruv Rathi, but centred on Vedic civilisation, Mauryan politics, lost universities, temple architecture, and similar themes.
Core toolkit
• Adobe Premiere Pro for the primary edit
• Adobe After Effects for motion graphics, maps, and subtle visual treatments
• Adobe Audition for dialogue cleanup, ambience beds, and SFX layering
I also lean on Adobe Photoshop for quick image treatments, so comfort jumping between these apps is essential.
What you’ll weave in
Historical images and archival footage that you research or pull from my drive, custom infographics or animated timelines that clarify complex topics, plus background music and cinematic sound effects that elevate the narrative without overpowering it.
Workflow
1. I supply the presenter’s A-roll, a loose script, and any reference material.
2. You produce a rough cut for structure approval.
3. Once locked, you add B-roll, motion graphics, colour grade, and a polished sound mix.
4. Deliver a YouTube-ready 4K file and a separate project folder with all assets neatly organised.
Acceptance criteria
• Smooth, engaging pacing with no dead air
• Graphics and captions consistent with the channel’s emerging brand
• Fully balanced audio – dialogue clear at −3 to −6 LUFS, music/SFX ducked appropriately
• All third-party assets licensed or public-domain and documented
