Emotional Hand-Drawn Sketch Animation
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I’ve written a personal, emotionally driven story and want to see it unfold as a 4- to 5-minute short film. Think of the gentle, intimate feel of Kobe Bryant’s “Dear Basketball”: warm narration supported by graceful, hand-drawn pencil lines that quietly amplify each beat of the script. Your role is to turn my words into that same sketch-animation experience—clean 2D lines, visible graphite texture, and soft transitions that keep the focus on the emotion.
Deliverables
• Storyboard that pairs my script with clear visual beats
• Hand-drawn 2D animation in a consistent pencil-sketch aesthetic
• Subtle motion, camera moves, and minimal color (if any) to heighten mood without distraction
• Final cut in Full HD (1920×1080) running 4–5 minutes, delivered as .mp4 plus editable project files
I’ll provide the narration track once the timing is set, or we can begin with a scratch voice-over to lock pacing early. If you work in Toon Boom, TVPaint, Adobe Animate, or a similar pipeline, let me know; the only requirement is that the finished piece feels authentically hand-drawn.
When you reply, please include at least one sample that shows comparable sketch or pencil work and outline your estimated timeline for storyboard, roughs, and final clean-up. I’m excited to see how you can breathe life into this story.
Here's the narration and the story im going to do to the animation..
Honestly..
I never thought life could be so good
It wasn’t always like this..
There was a time when each day felt heavy
When the dreams I once believed in felt like distant memories..
I tried every day to hold on to my music and to hope
but some days even hope felt tired..
I was all in, for me there was no plan B
I kept writing songs I wasn’t sure anyone would hear
wondering if I was chasing a dream that had already past me by
I remember asking God one day
Not for success not for answers just for something real I could believe in
A friend , a love I had never known…
I stopped looking. I almost stopped believing
I wasn’t expecting anything and thats when she found me “Nala”
She came into my life without warning but somehow right on time
She gave me the strength to keep on fighting for the dreams I’ve had all my life
Those quiet mornings
The long walks
Her steady presence never asked me to be anything else but me
Everyday she showed me something I had forgotten
She taught me the meaning of loyalty and unconditional love
With her beside me the silence didn’t feel so loud
The weight I car

ried didn’t own me anymore
Somewhere along the way I started to believe again..
She became my reason to wake up every morning
My reason to keep on going
You see Nala’s just not any dog she’s Nala my love…
