Scanned PDF Ebook Overhaul
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a set of scanned PDFs loaded with both text and images that now need to become a single, polished ebook. The first step is tidying the archive itself—group every file logically (chapters, sections, appendices) so nothing is misplaced. From there, run accurate OCR on each page, straighten any skew, fix margins, and clean up image placement so the document reads like it was born digital.
Once the content is stable, adjust fonts, headings, and page flow so the layout feels consistent across the whole book. I’m happy for you to work in Adobe Acrobat Pro, ABBYY FineReader, InDesign, or any comparable tool; just keep the workflow transparent so I can track progress.
The primary deliverable is a press-ready, searchable PDF, but I would also like the source files and the option of ePub or Mobi exports if you already have them prepared during conversion.
Acceptance criteria
• All pages searchable with ≥ 99 % OCR accuracy
• Images correctly embedded, no resolution loss, captions aligned
• Consistent styling for headings, body text, footnotes, and page numbers
• Logical folder structure and clear file names for every chapter/section
• Final PDF opens flawlessly on desktop and mobile readers
If you’ve tackled mixed-content scans before and can hit those marks, let’s get started.
