PDF Label Automation in Acrobat
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
My current project involves a set of PDF layouts for bottled-water labels. Right now each file carries production instructions and variable text outside the live-print area; I need all of that content shifted inside the safe zone in a way that can be processed automatically.
Key points you should know:
• Workflow & tools: I want the automation built entirely in Adobe Acrobat—an Action Wizard sequence or a JavaScript-based solution that I can run on demand. No external apps are required.
• Data feed: All variable content comes from one Excel sheet. Each row corresponds to a label, with columns holding the specific wording that must appear inside the print area.
• Layer handling: The inserted text has to sit on its own layer (or equivalent) so I can hide or delete it in a single click before final release if needed.
Deliverables:
1. A reusable Acrobat action/script that imports the Excel data and places every field in the correct coordinates inside the printable area.
2. One sample processed PDF and a brief step-by-step guide so I can test and run the routine myself on the full batch.
The first batch is composed of 74 layouts. This have to be done in 5 languages- ENG, SPA, FRA, ITA, DEU
That is why it´s imporant to automatize it.
If you have prior experience wrangling Acrobat JavaScript for variable-data layouts, this should be straightforward. I’ll supply the Excel file, the base PDF templates, and the exact bounding box for the live-print zone as soon as we start.
