Change RGB pdf to CMYK for printing - simple job
Budget: $10 – $30 AUD
We created a design in Canva, but the printer has advised that the CMYK values are incorrect, resulting in poor colour output on print. The background needs to be set to pure black (CMYK 0,0,0,100) on both sides, and the file must be made print-ready with correct colour profiles, bleeds, and crop marks.
We will provide a layered PDF exported from Canva and need a professional designer with prepress and CMYK experience to fix the colour setup and prepare a press-ready file.
What we’ll provide
Layered PDF from Canva (both sides of artwork)
Any linked assets or fonts if required
Printer’s colour correction notes:
“The background CMYK should be (0,0,0,100) on both sides.”
Reference proof PDF showing the current issue
What we need you to do
Convert the Canva file into a proper CMYK workflow (Illustrator, InDesign, or Photoshop).
Set both backgrounds to pure black: CMYK 0,0,0,100 (no rich black, no RGB black).
Convert all elements and images to CMYK colour mode.
Ensure all text blacks are K-only for sharp print results.
Add 3 mm bleeds and crop marks on all sides.
Flatten transparencies and embed or outline fonts.
Deliver a press-ready PDF suitable for offset or digital printing in Australia.
Provide a quick proof showing eyedropper readouts confirming background colour (0,0,0,100).
Deliverables
Fixed press-ready PDF for print (CMYK, bleeds, crop marks)
Updated editable source file (AI, INDD, or layered PDF)
Optional: preflight or colour check report
Confirmation that background and all blacks are correctly set
Notes
This was originally designed in Canva, so colour management was not properly set up. You’ll need to rebuild or correct the artwork so that it meets professional CMYK print standards.
Please make sure the file:
Uses C0 M0 Y0 K100 for background
Has total ink coverage ≤ 300%
No unintended overprint or RGB elements
Timeline
First proof within 24 hours
Final delivery within 48 hours after approval
To include in your bid
A short description of your print-prep or prepress experience
Confirmation you’re comfortable converting Canva files to CMYK
Your preferred tools (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
A sample of previous CMYK print correction work
