Medical and General Personal Assistant Needed
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
I need help managing my life administration, specifically regarding medical information and communications. I am experiencing some complex poor mental health and exhaustion. I want to be able to do these things myself, and will hopefully regain my ability to do so, but at first I will need this assistant to take the lead and work independently without my input, if I am too unwell. The tasks will include:
1. Managing appointments, administration and communications from various medical teams/professionals.
2. Prioritising and organising tasks, including household tasks such as talking to builders etc.
Responding to emails and ensuring I have not missed important communications.
3. Helping to write and compile my medical history.
4. Organising and managing other administrative tasks to do with finances, for example.
5.Able to write a weekly report to update my family and medical teams so they know how I'm doing.
6. Helping me keep track of my mental and physical symptoms.
This could be entirely remote, but being able to sometimes or regularly meet in person would be very helpful.
Person Specification:
Generally good at IT and very confident with basic administration software: Word, Outlook etc.
Ability to work with task management software such as Notion/Asana etc.
Adept at picking up new software, as I use specific programmes that work well for my brain.
Patient, kind and compassionate: I can find it hard to communicate at the moment and can't cope with stress.
Discreet and trustworthy with confidential and sensitive information.
Able to cope with transcribing difficult thoughts and content.
Useful, but not essential.
Familiar with healthcare administration, both NHS and private, including mental health care.
Familiar with neurodivergence: Autism and ADHD, and able to work well with neurodiverse people.
Familiar with GTD methods, or willing to learn about 'Getting Things Done'.
The role has no expectation of safeguarding responsibility, beyond updating family, and is in no way a therapeutic role. The person will need to be resilient when discussing potentially distressing topics, however.
The issues I am managing are:
Brain fog and very low energy
Poor concentration
Poor working memory and executive function
Low mood
Coping with physical pain
