Accountancy Partner Assistant Needed

Job ID: 40514006

Budget: £10 – £15 GBP

I run a small UK accountancy practice and I am looking for a reliable, organised, mid level, virtual admin assistant to help with routine practice administration.

This is not a technical accountancy role. I do not need someone to prepare accounts, tax returns or provide tax advice. The role is to help keep routine admin moving, reduce backlog, and assist with client communication and workflow.

The right person will be accurate, discreet, reliable, good with written English, and comfortable following clear checklists and procedures.

Main tasks may include:

* Updating client/workflow trackers
* Chasing clients for missing records or approvals using approved email templates
* Preparing lists of outstanding items
* Drafting routine client emails for review
* Checking whether client replies/documents have been received
* Flagging items that need my attention
* Helping maintain a daily/weekly admin action list
* Saving or organising documents in the correct folders
* Monitoring simple recurring admin tasks
* Later, once trained and trusted, helping with routine procedural filings where everything has already been approved, such as filing approved tax returns/accounts or no-change Companies House confirmation statements

For clarity, any filing or submission work would only be done after training and only where the work has already been technically reviewed and approved. I am looking for admin support, not accountancy judgement.

Important qualities:

* Excellent written English
* Strong attention to detail
* Able to follow instructions and checklists precisely
* Able to ask sensible questions rather than guess
* Reliable and consistent
* Comfortable with confidential client information
* Able to work with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel/Google Sheets or similar
* Experience supporting accountants, lawyers, consultants, financial advisers or other professional services firms would be helpful but is not essential

Initial arrangement:

I would like to start with a small trial, likely around 3–5 hours per week, with scope to increase if the arrangement works well. I am looking for someone who could potentially support the practice on an ongoing basis rather than just completing a one-off task.

Please include in your reply:

1. Your relevant admin/PA/VA experience
2. Whether you have supported any UK professional services businesses before
3. Your hourly rate
4. Your usual availability
5. A short example of how you would manage a task where a client replies with something unclear or outside the template

I am looking for someone careful, steady and trustworthy rather than someone who simply wants to do generic data entry.

I am open to starting at the lower end for a trial, with scope to increase hours and rate if the arrangement works well.
