Troubleshoot 2012r2 AD Server Boot Error

I'm facing an issue with my 2012r2 AD server; it only boots in Directory Services Restore Mode (DSRM) and displays an error code '0xc00002e2'. I've checked hardware connections, ran system diagnostics, and rebooted the server but the problem persists. This is a virtual machine and the integrity of the 'esentutl /g c:\windows\ntds\ntds.dit' database is fine.
There have been no recent changes to the server's configuration or installations of new software, also no other error codes or messages are appearing. The ideal freelancer should have experience with troubleshooting servers and specifically with virtual machine servers and error code '0xc00002e2'.

This is a VM guest running on a Linux KVM host. I have restored the C: drive and system state image backups to bring this server back online. As state above...it boots, but only into safe modes. There is no 2nd DC...it was another vm on the same hardware that crapped out(I know...I know). There is more I have to tell...would be nice to be able to talk to someone on the phone and potentially get them remoted in. Im negotiable on the fixed vs hourly rate.
