New Relic AD Alerts Setup
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’m looking for a New Relic specialist who can instrument my Active Directory Domain Controllers and turn the raw data into reliable, actionable alerts. The goal is simple: any time CPU or memory spikes, a replication hiccup appears, an authentication failure trend emerges, an AD service stops, or an unexpected reboot occurs, I want New Relic to warn me immediately—whether the trigger is a hard threshold breach or a specific Windows event.
The work involves installing and fine-tuning the New Relic Infrastructure agent on each Domain Controller, wiring up the right Windows performance counters and event log sources, and then translating that data into clear alert policies. Both event-based and threshold-based notifications should feed into the existing New Relic notification channels (email and Jira are ready to use).
Deliverables
• Dashboards showing CPU, memory, authentication failures, replication status, service health, and reboot history
• Alert policies for both threshold breaches and matching Windows event IDs, fully tested with sample triggers
• Brief hand-off document explaining where to adjust thresholds and add future Domain Controllers
