GoDaddy to Microsoft 365 Migration

Job ID: 39756388

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I’m moving roughly ten users off GoDaddy’s Office 365 reseller environment and into a fresh Microsoft 365 Business tenant. The new tenant hasn’t been configured yet, so you’ll start from a clean slate, build it out, and then orchestrate the entire cut-over with the least possible disruption.

Scope of work
• Configure the new Microsoft 365 Business tenant from scratch (licenses, security defaults, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD options).
• Use Microsoft’s own automated migration tooling—Exchange Admin Center migration batches, OneDrive & SharePoint Migration Manager, Teams PowerShell—so we can track progress natively and avoid extra licensing costs.
• Move each user’s mailbox (email, calendar, contacts), OneDrive, and Teams data.
• Update DNS for StrikeStock.ai once validation tests pass.
• Verify everything: mail flow, permissions, Teams chat history, OneDrive file counts, mobile profiles, and any shared mailboxes or groups.
• Schedule the final switch-over to keep downtime to an absolute minimum (ideally a weekend or after-hours window).

What I’ll provide
• Full admin-level credentials for both the GoDaddy tenant and the new Microsoft 365 tenant.
• A complete user list with current storage sizes and any special requirements (shared mailboxes, aliases, forwarding rules).

Acceptance criteria
1. All user data accessible in the new tenant with no loss or corruption.
2. Mail flow, Teams, and OneDrive fully functional within 30 minutes of cut-over.
3. DNS records updated and propagated without breaking existing web services.
4. Post-migration report summarising actions, issues, and resolutions.

If you’ve performed GoDaddy-to-Microsoft moves before and are comfortable relying on Microsoft’s built-in tooling (though I’m open to discussing other approaches if absolutely needed), let’s talk timing and your recommended migration schedule.

Future Work Opportunity

This project is the first step. If the migration is successful, I’m looking to establish an ongoing relationship with a systems professional who can help us:
• Harden and secure our office network (currently running Windows servers, databases, and various services that will soon be exposed to the open internet).
• Design a professional Active Directory / identity management setup.
• Implement proper backups, monitoring, and patching.
• Advise on best practices for securing sensitive intellectual property and financial data (a setup a Fortune 500 security team would be proud of).

If you have broader Windows Server, AD, SQL, or cybersecurity experience beyond Office 365 migrations, please highlight that. I want to reward excellent work with more projects and potentially a longer-term contract.

=> Bonus points if you’re into trading or fintech — you’ll instantly get why security is mission-critical for us. Daytraders welcome!!!
