Project: Restore SQL Server 2022 Connectivity & Validate VM Migration
We recently completed a pre-migration of our production environment to a new Windows-based virtual server. The system boots correctly, but SQL Server 2022 is not currently reachable. I need a skilled engineer to help diagnose and restore SQL connectivity and verify that Active Directory authentication works end-to-end.
Scope of Work
Connectivity Restoration
Diagnose why SQL Server 2022 is not accessible from the new virtual machine.
Fix network, service, or configuration issues preventing connections.
Active Directory Integration
Verify domain join and confirm that Windows/AD logins are functioning.
Test domain user login permissions and access to the SQL instance.
Functionality Testing
Confirm users can log in successfully.
Run a set of core database queries and confirm results match production.
Validate application connectivity to SQL Server.
Incremental Backup Setup
Implement or document a reliable incremental backup method from the production SQL Server to the VM.
Ensure backups are verified and restorable.
Deliverables
Root-cause analysis and confirmed fix for SQL Server 2022 connectivity.
Successful verification of login, database query, and application connectivity on the VM.
A concise guide or automated job for ongoing incremental backups between servers.
Requirements
Experience with SQL Server 2022, Active Directory, and Windows Server environments.
Ability to document findings and configuration steps clearly.
Good communication — I will supervise the work directly.
