Fix Domain Join Issue

Job ID: 39821991

Budget: £10 – £20 GBP

My brand-new Windows computer refuses to join our company domain. Every join attempt ends in an “authentication error,” even though the same credentials work on the rest of the fleet. Standard troubleshooting—checking DNS, time sync, credential cache, re-adding computer account in Active Directory—hasn’t helped, so I need a fresh set of expert eyes.

Scope
• Diagnose the root cause of the authentication failure when the Windows machine attempts to join the domain.
• Implement the fix, which may involve adjustments on the workstation (e.g., registry, network stack, credential manager) and/or on the domain controller side (AD object cleanup, group policy, DNS, or Kerberos settings).
• Verify that the computer successfully joins and signs in with domain credentials, receives the correct policies, and appears in Active Directory Users and Computers without errors.

Acceptance criteria
1. “Domain joined” status confirmed in System Properties.
2. Successful logon with a standard domain user account.
3. No recurring authentication or trust-relationship errors in Event Viewer after reboot.

I can provide remote access via TeamViewer or similar, as well as administrator credentials on both the workstation and the domain controller. Please outline the steps you intend to follow and an estimated timeframe so we can schedule a maintenance window with minimal disruption.
