Report that closing in a verandah reduces noise to other tenants in a small building

In a ground floor apartment with a garden we have an open area beneath an overhanging balcony belonging to the unit above. We propose closing in the existing area to extend a lounge. Neighbour above is objecting that closing this area in with increase noise to her unit. We believe it will reduce noise and require professional evidence of this.
