Living Room Acoustic Door Upgrade
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 AUD
Have included a photo. I have sliding doors that I believe is single glazed. The sliding doors themselves leak quite bit of volume from the main road.
Looking to have acoustic grade windows installed to dampen the traffic volume as much as possible. Happy to replace the sliding doors if required, the only restriction is it would need to fit the same current design due to strata.
The photo included is of the living room. There are another two windows (same width, sliding door) in the bedroom as well.
I need to swap out my current living-room sliding door for an acoustic-rated unit that dramatically cuts outside noise. The job starts with an on-site assessment to take accurate measurements and confirm any structural constraints.
Once measurements are locked in, I’ll need:
• Advice on suitable acoustic glass and frame systems that meet or exceed Australian Standards for sound insulation (STC/Rw ratings).
• A written supply list covering door, seals, hardware, and any flashing or trim needed for a clean finish.
• Professional installation, including removal and responsible disposal of the existing door, precise fitting of the new unit, weather-proof sealing, and tidy finishing work.
I’m looking for a turnkey result—everything from procurement through installation and final acoustic check handled by you. Experience with acoustic glazing, attention to detail, and the ability to keep the living room usable and clean throughout the process will be highly valued.
Happy for you to recommend or quote what is required - whether that is entire replacement or window upgrade and sound proofing the doors.
Would require a quote before proceeding for lending purposes
