Industrial Noise Source Identification

Job ID: 39793357

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I need a qualified acoustic engineer who can come on-site to our manufacturing plant and pinpoint exactly which machines and tools are driving the excessive noise and vibration that we are experiencing on the floor. The goal is straightforward: capture accurate field data, trace the dominant noise and vibration paths, and give me a clear, evidence-based map of root causes so I can target the right mitigation steps.

You’ll have full access to production during a planned downtime window, and I can arrange safe isolation of individual machines to support your tests. Please bring (or specify) the instrumentation you prefer—Class 1 sound level meter, tri-axial accelerometers, FFT analyzer, calibrated data loggers, etc.—and be ready to follow our standard safety procedures.

Deliverables
• A concise measurement plan outlining test locations, sensor types, and run times
• On-site data collection (airborne noise and structure-borne vibration) with photos or sketches of sensor placement
• Post-processing and spectral analysis that clearly ranks each machine and tool by contribution level
• A written report (PDF) summarizing findings, annotated floor plan, and recommended next steps for mitigation

I’m looking for someone who can slot this work into a single visit, turn the report around within a week, and is comfortable referencing relevant standards such as ISO 9612, ISO 10816, or equivalent. If this sounds like your specialty, let’s discuss timing and any advance information you need from me.
