Acoustic Design for Pump Container
Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP
I need a complete acoustic build-up design for a standard 40-foot shipping container that will house a high-capacity water pump on an industrial site. My sole goal is to bring external noise emissions down to compliant levels, so the focus is firmly on noise reduction rather than vibration isolation.
This project is on a fast track—I’d like to move from concept to issued-for-construction drawings as soon as practical. I’m therefore looking for a professional who can quickly translate performance targets into a buildable solution.
Scope of work
• Assess pump sound power and industrial background levels (I can supply basic data; you confirm or refine).
• Select and size the acoustic treatments—panels, doors, louvres, internal linings, silencers—so the enclosure meets the agreed dB(A) target at 1 m and at the site boundary.
• Provide a detailed bill of materials with commercial product references (rock-wool density, perforated sheet gauge, mass-loaded vinyl thickness, etc.).
• Deliver general arrangement drawings and sectional details in AutoCAD (DWG) or SolidWorks format, plus a short calculation note that shows insertion-loss predictions (SoundPLAN, CadnaA, or your preferred tool).
• Include installation guidelines that a fabricator can follow without further clarification.
Acceptance criteria
– Calculations demonstrate at least 25 dB(A) overall attenuation.
– Drawings are dimensioned and to scale.
– Material call-outs match products available in the UK/EU.
– All deliverables supplied in editable format, along with a printable PDF set.
If you’ve completed similar pump, generator, or compressor container projects, please reference them in your proposal. I’ll award quickly and stay available for prompt feedback so we can meet the ASAP timeline.
