Acoustic Analysis after Renovation in Unit
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I propose closing in an existing verandah and an upstairs neighbour is objecting, claiming there will be more noise for her post renovation. I require a competent audio engineer to carry out an evaluation of potential sound disturbances post-renovation in my brick-built, 3 bedroom unit. Concerns include general noises common to daily living in a family. The report may be used to support an NCAT application by me that the neighbour is unreasonably objecting to my minor renovation. .
Here's what I need:
- A detailed sound assessment that takes into account the composition and size of the unit.
- Identification of potentially disturbing sounds to the upstairs neighbour which could include voices, footsteps, and impact noises.
- Recommendations on potential soundproofing techniques, if necessary.
Ideal applicants should possess:
- Proven sound engineering experience
- An understanding of different noises and how they can be dampened or amplified depending on the building materials
- Familiarity with noise regulations and standards for residential units.
Your task will involve performing an onsite visit, running the necessary tests, if necessary and providing a report on your findings that may be used at an NCAT hearing.
