Regular Accounting and Bookkeeping work
Budget: £5 – £10 GBP
S&T is a firm of accountants based in the UK serving UK and Irish clients. A large part of our client portfolio is Greek-speaking, so we are looking for a long term freelance junior accountant / bookkeeper to support our team, working from Greece.
We can enter into a contractual arrangement or hire an employee through our local employer entity.
Role Responsibilities
1. Understand and consume the various types of record that clients submit for the purpose of bookkeeping and accounts production, such as bank statements, invoices, etc.
2. Perform bookkeeping work, ensuring that each transaction is correctly and effectively treated
3. Use various pieces of commercial software to run the bookkeeping process as well as produce financial statements
4. Understand fundamental accounting principles and be able to apply the same to optimise transactional treatment
5. Produce workings and reconciliation as part of presenting work for the purpose of review by their seniors
6. Liaise with clients to provide basic advice and guidance as well as address flow queries
7. Produce and file VAT returns
Skills & Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
2. 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred
3. Experience with Xero, Quickbooks advantageous
4. Excellent Excel and generally MS Office Skills
5. Fluent in English (verbal and written) essential
6. Ability to work against deadlines with minimal supervision, under pressure and committed to the cause
