Quickbooks Expert
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Our company is looking to hire a QuickBooks Specialist who could help us do the following:
a) review past entries on QB done by our team and third-party contractors to make sure they were categorized/reconciled correctly,
b) teach our in-house accounting clerk (with limited accounting training) how to better use QB,
c) create standard operating procedures to help us maintain our accounting efforts and QB, and;
d) provide bi-weekly and/or monthly bookkeeping services.
For reference, we operate a company (law firm) which, until recently, operated through multiple entities (separate law firms sharing business and staff), and accept cryptocurrency payments. In order to make sure you're reading this, please include the word "stellar" on the subject line.
Below you'll find our proposed next steps to kick off our efforts, and we are open for feedback regarding the initial steps.
Proposed initial steps:
1) Explain our business model and walk through our current QB setup, including explaining how CLIO and other third party apps interact with QB
2) Have the specialist review our setup on QB and come up with suggestions/questions
3) Review the suggestions and questions with our accounting clerk
4) Begin teaching our accounting clerk how to resolve certain issues
5) Conduct appropriate upkeep on QB, while consciously training our accounting clerk on such upkeep, which may include modifying transactions, re-classifying employees/contractors, reviewing past reconciled/classified transactions for accuracy, removing duplicate transactions, which would finally (hopefully) result in accurate PL statements for the 2022 tax year
6) Review the work done with our CPA, accounting clerk, and upper management
7) Decide on specific duties for on-going support.
Although we do not have a high initial budget, we believe in giving performance/time based raises. For reference, we normally give a minimum of a 10% raise to contractors within 1000 hours of working. We're looking forward to hearing back!
