Quarterly Financial Statements Preparation

Transactions are already being captured in our accounting software, but the raw data still needs a professional touch. Each quarter I want to close the books and receive two polished reports—an accurate Balance Sheet and a Profit & Loss statement—ready for management review and tax planning.

Scope of work
• Reconcile bank, credit-card, and payment-processor feeds
• Classify any uncategorised transactions and adjust entries where needed
• Verify opening balances and retained earnings for consistency
• Produce a GAAP-compliant Balance Sheet and P&L for the quarter, delivered in both PDF and the native file from the system (QuickBooks Online; an exported Excel copy is fine if you work in Xero)
• Provide a brief commentary highlighting key variances or unusual items

Acceptance criteria
• All accounts reconcile to bank statements within a ±​$1 variance
• Reports generated no later than ten days after quarter-end close
• Files pass the built-in validation checks in the accounting platform and open without errors

If our collaboration runs smoothly, the assignment will roll forward every quarter and could expand to include a Cash Flow statement and tax schedules.
