Legal case against the IRS for Withholding tax reclaim
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD
I work with a International Corporation that over the years made investments into a US based fund that invested into Business Development Corporations "BDCs" which unnecessarily over withheld taxes to the IRS.
Despite receiving certain refund checks for 2 of the years, we are still seeking refund checks for a further 3 years of overpayments.
In the past 4 years we have re-submitted the claims via filing 843 forms, and engaging an accountant to try and speak to a decision maker at the IRS, which, and especially with COVID, was not successful.
We therefore see no other option but to bring legal pressures to the IRS as we want to get a final conclusion on the matter and they are using Covid as an excuse to delay and not pay us.
Now of course every attorney is happy to work on this, especially if they charge an hourly rate, but what we are looking for right now is a firm to help us with this task and potentially charge us a flat fee rate for this work involved.
