Financial Modeller – Retail Hard Goods Startup | Excel Historical & Projection Models
We are looking for an experienced financial modeller to create two investor-ready Excel workbooks for a retail hard goods startup:
1. Historical / Due Diligence Workbook – Clean and structure five years of financial statements. Brief notes for unusual items are fine; full narrative is not required.
2. Forward-Looking Projection Model – Build 3–5 year forecasts with separate assumption tabs for revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures. P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet should flow from these drivers. Include scenario toggles and a simple valuation (DCF or multiples). A sample model can be provided.
Deliverables:
1. Cleaned Historical Workbook, fully reconciled.
2. Dynamic Projection Model with flagged assumption inputs and unlocked formulas.
Ideal Candidate:
- Understands how investors and corporate finance professionals evaluate models.
- Can build technical models and explain assumptions and outputs in plain language.
- Can advise on the inputs and assumptions needed before starting the projections.
