Federal Records Paralegal Support Needed
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I need a reliable legal assistant or paralegal to take full ownership of both preparing and organizing record requests directed at federal and other government agencies. The core of the work is drafting precise FOIA and agency‐specific request letters, tracking statutory deadlines, and keeping every submission—and the responses—perfectly catalogued in a shared digital filing system.
You’ll be working with a mix of federal and agency records, so prior experience navigating federal legal procedures is essential. Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail are equally important, as I’ll rely on you to maintain an up-to-date spreadsheet that reflects request status, follow-up dates, and any required appeals.
Work can be performed remotely or in Minneapolis, whichever suits you best. Hours are flexible and I’m budgeting $25–$50 per hour depending on your experience level. I anticipate roughly 10–20 hours a week to start, with the possibility of more as caseload expands.
Deliverables:
• Drafted and finalized record requests ready for my signature
• A continuously updated tracking log showing key dates and next actions
• Digitally filed PDFs of all outgoing requests and incoming agency correspondence, labeled to an agreed naming convention
Acceptance criteria: each request must comply with the relevant agency’s submission rules, appear in the tracking log before it is sent, and be stored in the correct folder immediately afterward.
If you bring federal procedural know-how, rock-solid organization, and meticulous attention to detail, I’d love to collaborate with you.
