Divorce Forensic Accounting and Valuation

Job ID: 39844027

Budget: $2,500 – $5,000 USD

I’m in the middle of a divorce and need a qualified forensic accountant to verify my spouse’s true income and provide a defensible valuation of our jointly owned business. Hidden-asset searches are not my priority right now; the critical pieces are accurate income verification and a solid business valuation that will hold up in negotiations or, if necessary, in court.

I already have several years of personal and corporate tax returns ready for review, but much of the remaining backup—bank statements, investment records, subsidiary ledgers—will need to be identified and requested. I’ll lean on your guidance to determine exactly what’s missing and the best way to obtain it through discovery.

Deliverables I need from you:
• A concise report outlining verified income streams, highlighting any discrepancies between tax filings and actual cash flow.
• A formal business valuation using standard methods (DCF, market comps, or asset-based as appropriate), complete with assumptions and supporting schedules.
• A clear list of additional documents or interrogatories we should pursue so my legal team can move quickly.

Experience with family-law cases, testimony, or deposition support is a plus, and proficiency in tools such as QuickBooks, Excel, and forensic software (e.g., IDEA or ACL) will be important. I’m ready to begin as soon as we agree on scope and timeline.
