We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations. This remote role is essential for maintaining the financial health and efficiency of our investments and group activities, with a focus on creative tax minimisation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Oversee cash flow management, ensuring optimal liquidity for operations and investments.
Australian Tax Compliance and Innovation:
Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and regulations.
Develop and implement innovative and creative tax minimisation strategies.
Prepare and lodge tax returns and other statutory filings.
Bookkeeping and Accounting:
Manage all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting processes.
Reconcile accounts and prepare balance sheets.
Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor and report on deviations from budgeted figures.
Digital Proficiency and Tool Utilisation:
Proficient in using Google Documents and familiar with Google Workspace.
Experience in using ChatGPT and other AI tools for financial analysis and research.
Willingness to embrace and learn new technologies and tools.
Project Management and Collaboration:
Utilise ASANA for project management and collaboration within the team.
Participate in regular team meetings and provide financial insights.
Key Requirements:
Innovative approach to financial management, particularly in tax minimisation.
In-depth understanding of Australian tax law.
Proficiency in Google Documents and familiarity with Google Workspace.
Experience with ASANA or similar project management tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information.
A strong desire to learn and adapt is more important than extensive experience.
