Compensation Claim Loss Assessment

Job ID: 40369482

Budget: $15 – $25 AUD

I was held in custody in Western Australia for longer than I believe the court intended. Before I can take the matter further I need a practitioner who can both verify the strength of my compensation claim and place reliable dollar figures on what the ordeal has already cost me.

My top priority is a clear, evidence-based calculation of the financial damage. This covers two streams that were interrupted simultaneously: the day-to-day income from my existing business and the future projects I had to abandon or delay. I have some records to start with—partial contracts, invoices, email trails and management accounts—but they will need organising, gap-filling and, where necessary, expert valuation so the numbers stand up to scrutiny.

Once those figures are settled I also want advice on whether psychological or reputational harm should be pleaded, and—if the facts support it—a concise Letter of Demand sent to the responsible authority before the limitation period expires. Should the agency reject or ignore the demand, guidance on launching proceedings (or handling them on my behalf) will be essential.

For clarity, the discrete deliverables I expect are:
• A written opinion confirming whether the custody was unlawful or unduly extended.
• A documented calculation of lost business income and missed opportunities, with methodology and supporting exhibits.
• Recommendations on claiming emotional distress and reputational loss.
• A Letter of Demand drafted, finalised and dispatched.
• A short action plan outlining next procedural steps if litigation becomes necessary.

Expertise in WA tort law, state liability and forensic accounting will be highly regarded. Please outline your approach, expected timeline and any additional information you will need from me so we can move quickly.
