Job Description:
As a Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for effectively managing a portfolio of delinquent accounts and working towards achieving collection goals. Your primary objective will be to negotiate payment arrangements and implement effective strategies to resolve outstanding debts. You will engage in professional communication with debtors, ensuring that customer relationships are maintained and satisfactory resolutions are reached.
Responsibilities:
Contact debtors via phone, email, and other approved channels to initiate collection efforts
Negotiate payment plans and settlements with debtors, taking into account their financial situation and our company's policies
Document all collection activities accurately and maintain comprehensive records of debtor interactions
Conduct thorough research on debtor accounts to gather relevant information and identify potential solutions
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing debtor inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex collection issues and escalate cases when necessary
Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices in debt collection to ensure compliance
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in finance or related fields is a plus
Previous experience in collections or customer service is preferred but not required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
Proficiency in using computer systems, databases, and productivity tools
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
Availability to work full-time, Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM in the Montreal time zone
