Audit Financial PDFs for Anomalies
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’m handing over a bundle of finance-related documents—mostly PDFs with a few Word files—that need a fresh set of eyes. Your task is to read through every line, table, and figure and flag anything that looks like an anomaly or outright error. Duplicate entries, amounts that suddenly spike, missing totals, mismatched subtotals—whatever doesn’t feel consistent with the rest of the data—should be captured.
Please annotate directly in the file (comments or highlights are fine) and prepare a concise summary report that lists:
• The page and section where each irregularity appears.
• A short note on why it seems off.
• Suggested next steps if the issue is clear-cut (e.g., “recalculate”, “request missing invoice”, etc.)
If you prefer exporting the numbers to Excel or running a quick Python or R script to surface outliers before manual review, that’s perfectly acceptable as long as the final deliverable is still human-readable.
Data is sensitive, so I’ll ask for a brief confirmation that you’ll keep everything confidential. Turnaround within a week would be ideal, but let me know if you need a bit more time for a thorough sweep.
