Sr. Accountant -- 2
Budget: $50 – $0 USD
Perform accounting functions and provide support for the Accounting Operations team on behalf of the RRM Foundation and Cantigny Park (the “Foundation”). This includes gathering, reviewing, and recording financial transactions related to the consolidated business results of the organization. This position is also responsible for preparing account and bank reconciliations, reviewing grant funding requests and payment submittals, supporting the organization’s financial audit, and recording transactions from Cantigny Park (“Park”) and golf (“Kemper”) operations. In addition, the role is also responsible for preparing documents in support of the Foundation’s compliance and regulatory reporting efforts.
Essential Functions:
1. Prepare and input journal entries for posting ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded within the general ledger including creation of new account numbers in the general ledger.
2. Manage revenue recognition including posting all entries and reconciling all accounts.
3. Analyze and reconcile key general ledger accounts including bank reconciliation, accounts receivables, fixed asset and other accounts.
4. Prepare, post and reconcile intercompany entries including coordination and importing of journal entries from golf/hospitality operations.
5. Prepare monthly financial schedules and respond to formal and adhoc requests for information.
6. Track and manage grant accounting activity:
• Create monthly grant reports and provide monthly explanations and commentary.
• Record fundraising activity and monitor daily cash position.
• Prepare monthly worksheets and reconcile all fundraising and grantmaking activity.
• Coordinate with Expense Management Analyst (EMA) to process all grant payments
7. Assists in the development of internal controls to ensure the safeguarding of Foundation assets.
8. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’ Degree in accounting/ business/finance required
Master’s degree in accounting/ business/finance preferred
Experience: 5-6 years of experience
