ADA-Compliant Restaurant Menu Conversion

Job ID: 40339974

Budget: $250 – $500 USD

I am looking for a professional web developer to update a restaurant website (www.salsaandbeertogo.com) to meet ADA/WCAG 2.1 Compliance standards.

IMPORTANT: Currently, the website serves as a digital menu for dine-in customers. It does not process online orders. Most of the menu is currently displayed as images or basic layouts that are not accessible to users with visual or motor impairments.

Scope of Work:
The goal is to ensure the site is fully navigable and readable by screen readers. Key tasks include:

Content Conversion (Image to Text): Convert all menu items currently displayed as JPG/PNG images into high-quality, searchable HTML text. No "PDF-only" solutions.

Navigation & Structure: Implement proper Heading Tags (H1, H2, H3) so screen readers can navigate sections (Appetizers, Main Course, etc.).

Keyboard Accessibility: Ensure the entire site is navigable using only the 'Tab' and 'Enter' keys.

Visual Standards: Ensure a High Contrast Ratio and that the site is fully Responsive (text must remain readable at 200% zoom).

Alt-Text & Labels: Add descriptive Alt-Text to images and clear labels to all buttons.

Mandatory Requirements to Bid:
To be considered for this project, you must answer these 3 questions in your proposal:

What specific tools do you use to test for ADA/WCAG compliance?

Can you provide a link to a project you have personally made ADA compliant?

How will you handle the current menu images to ensure they are accessible?

Please start your proposal with the word "SALSA" so I know you have read this entire description. Proposals without this word will be ignored.
