feminist Bakhtinian analysis of North and South
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m commissioning an academic paper that reads Elizabeth Gaskell’s North and South through a combined feminist-Bakhtinian lens. The core of the study will be Bakhtin’s notion of polyphony, showing how multiple, often conflicting, voices in the novel construct and contest gender roles, foreground female agency, and ultimately enable women’s voices within the social and industrial debates of the text.
Scope
• 15000 words (excluding bibliography) suitable for journal submission or advanced coursework.
• Close textual analysis backed by at least ten recent secondary sources that engage both feminist criticism and Bakhtinian scholarship.
• Clear sections covering theoretical framework, textual examination, and critical discussion.
• Consistent citation in MLA or Chicago style; include an annotated bibliography of major sources.
Deliverable
One polished, proof-read manuscript in Word format plus a PDF version.
I will review for argumentative coherence, depth of textual evidence, and correct application of Bakhtin’s polyphony to the feminist concerns outlined above.
