Comment on the following questions. Please note that although there are 4 questions, there are 6 parts
altogether that need to be addressed.
1. Outline the ethical responsibilities of the overdeveloped nations and the multinational
corporations (MNCs) that have so far produced most of the atmosphere’s inventory of GHGs.
2. How specifically and with examples, should the overdeveloped nations and MNCs: (Be sure to include
examples)
a. reduce their own emissions?
b. share knowledge, technology, and manpower so that the majority world can prevent
contributing to the climate crisis?
3. Overdeveloped nations and MNCs are creating unstable and dangerous climatic changes
a. Is our climate crisis a form of cultural aggression - people of one culture destroying the
material basis of another?
b. Should cultural icons such as the Great Barrier Reef for Australians be preserved? Does Inuit
culture have a right to ice? Do the Solomon Islanders have a right to be above water?
4. What specifically and with examples, should the overdeveloped nations and MNCs do to reduce
the harm they are causing on those who haven’t received the benefits of our carbon economy? Be
sure to include examples.
