Instructions:
In this project, you are supposed to model and simulate a microbial growth in a Stirred Tank Bioreactors. Search the literature and find a microorganism (a particular type of yeast, fungi, bacteria...) that is used to produce a particular product (a particular antibiotic, vaccine, enzyme ...). Study the microorganism (it is growth conditions, the substrates that it grows on...) and the product that you have chosen in detail. Pick an appropriate mode of operation (batch, fed-batch, continuous...) for your system. Please, refer to the literature before choosing a mode of operation.
You are expected to justify each of your choices (the microorganism, the product, the substrate the mode of operation for the bioreactor) by referring to the current literature.
Simplify the system that you have chosen in order to derive the model equations. Do not forget to state the assumptions you have made. Collect the required parameters from the previous literature. Please do not forget to cite the papers that you have benefited from. Explore the effect of different initial conditions in your simulations. Please provide your results using appropriate graphical means and caption. Show how good you are in MATLAB. Do not forget to refer to the figures in the text.
