Trauma, Memory, and Identity in Kindred
Budget: $200 – $400 USD
I’m looking for a skilled academic writer to take my Master’s thesis from blank page to polished submission. The project explores how trauma, memory, and identity intertwine in Octavia E. Butler’s novel Kindred.
Scope of work
• Plan and draft every chapter—abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology (text-based analysis), core analytical chapters, conclusion, and full reference list.
• Engage deeply with existing scholarship on Butler, trauma theory, memory studies, and identity formation, weaving these perspectives into a coherent argument that stays firmly rooted in the text.
• Follow my university’s official Master’s thesis guidelines for structure, citation style, margin settings, headings, and word-count bands. I will supply the handbook as soon as we start.
• Provide properly formatted in-text citations and a final bibliography using the required style (the guidelines specify this).
• Work in stages: outline → chapter drafts → revisions after my supervisor’s feedback → final proofread document ready for submission.
Key expectations
Accuracy, originality, and critical depth are non-negotiable. I need clear, engaging academic prose that demonstrates a command of literary theory and close-reading techniques, backed by peer-reviewed sources. Regular progress updates and openness to iterative feedback will be essential so I can keep my supervisor informed.
Deliverables
1. Full thesis manuscript in Microsoft Word (editable) and PDF.
2. Reference list generated via a citation manager (e.g., Zotero or EndNote) to make updates easy.
3. A separate document mapping sources used versus research questions addressed (helps with viva prep).
4.MLA style
If you have solid experience writing humanities theses—especially on contemporary African-American literature or speculative fiction—let’s discuss timeline and milestones.
Number of words and secondary sources
The number of words in a 30 hp M.A. thesis should be 25,000–35,000 words. The thesis should engage with at least 20 relevant secondary sources.
