Social Science Research Writing Mentor
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I would like a knowledgeable, patient mentor to guide my high-school student as he explores political science and international affairs. His current interests sit at the intersection of geopolitics and its role in global economy, international relations, and government policies, and he needs help transforming his ideas and preliminary reading into clear, well-argued papers that meet academic standards.
The main focus is writing assistance: formulating research question, credible research sources, shaping arguments, refining structure, improving style, and learning proper citation practices. Alongside that, I’d value light research guidance—showing him how to locate reputable sources, evaluate them critically, and weave evidence smoothly into her essays—so she gains confidence conducting small-scale social-science research on his own.
We can meet online once or twice a week, and I will share any draft material ahead of time so you can return detailed, actionable feedback during sessions.
Deliverables
• A concise research plan tailored to his topic of the moment
• Ongoing annotated feedback on each draft (Google Docs or Word track-changes)
• A final polished paper that demonstrates progress in argumentation, structure, graphs, data analysis, and citation accuracy
He is planning on publishing the final paper and /or presenting at research conferences.
