Research Editor & Publishing Strategist (Q1/Q2 Journals + Tech Books)
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are seeking an experienced academic publishing and research editor to support the development of:
A Q1/Q2 journal paper (6,000–8,000 words)
A professional/academic book proposal suitable for publishers such as Apress, Wiley O'reilly, Manning, Pearson, Packt, or BCS

Scope of Work
Journal Paper
Shape a journal-ready manuscript aligned to Q1/Q2 journals
Refine the research question, novelty, and contribution
Advise on journal targeting and fit
Ensure structure aligns with scholarly expectations (IMRaD or equivalent)
Support references, citations, and submission readiness
Book Proposal
Develop a compelling proposal (market positioning, TOC, sample chapter framing)
Align content to expectations of technical/professional publishers
Advise on what content belongs in the book vs. the journal article
Optional (but valuable)
Reviewer response strategy and revision support
Prior experience or relationships with publishers or journal editors
Required Qualifications (Applicants who do not meet these will not be considered)
Direct experience with Q1 or Q2 journal submissions (author, editor, or consultant)
Prior work on academic or professional technology books
Familiarity with peer review, revisions, and editorial decision cycles
Experience working with technical topics (AI, systems, cloud, infrastructure, data, economics)
Ability to shape original scholarly contribution, not just copyediting
Nice to Have (Strong Advantage)
Prior work with Springer, Apress, Packt, Wiley, Elsevier, IEEE
Experience as a journal reviewer or editorial assistant
Familiarity with Scopus, Web of Science, ABDC, ABS rankings
Background in information systems, technology management, or applied economics
