This report will be informed by a reflective journal which will form part of the appendix.
The focus of the report will be negotiated according to the particular themes and issues emerging from the placements.
In order to deepen their understanding of, and critically engage with reflective practice in a particular working context, you will spend a minimum of 20 hours on placement, working as part of a team or community. You will need to operate in a range of supportive roles within teams. You will need to demonstrate an ability to manage your time and tasks set, thereby demonstrating that you can work effectively with the professional setting and its community.
You will be given the opportunity to reflect on your own practice in the light of current policy and research, considering how these may influence practice within the sector. Current issues will be introduced and discussed through whole-group classes and directed reading, and will be explored through work-related reflection.
Through exploration of policy and reflective theory, you will critically reflect on your own practical experiences, applying knowledge and understanding of policy in education to practical contexts. You will engage critically with the concept of professional reflection through keeping a reflective journal, which will inform the assessment task.
