PhD Media Studies Research Support

Job ID: 39899036

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I am in the middle of my doctoral work in Communication and Media Studies and need a seasoned academic partner to push two critical tasks over the line.

1) Literature review
• Locate the most influential, up-to-date scholarship in our field.
• Summarize and synthesize those sources into a coherent narrative.
• Pinpoint clear research gaps that justify my study’s contribution.

2) Qualitative data analysis
• Work with interview transcripts and/or textual materials using recognised methods such as thematic, content, or discourse analysis.
• Produce coded datasets, analytic memos, and a concise write-up that ties findings back to my theoretical framework.

Ideal collaborator
• Advanced qualification in Communication and Media Studies or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrable track record of peer-reviewed writing, literature mapping, and rigorous qualitative analysis (NVivo, MAXQDA, or equivalent).
• Ability to explain methodological choices clearly and provide citation-ready output in APA.

Timeline is flexible but milestones will be agreed up front for each deliverable. If you have the scholarly eye and methodological skill described, I’m ready to share my draft proposal and data so we can begin right away.
