PhD-Level Literature Review on Coal Decline Impacts
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I need a PhD-level academic literature review of approximately 6,000 words for a doctoral examination. The review should critically compare and contrast the existing academic, peer-reviewed literature only on the socioeconomic impacts of coal decline and post-coal transition, with a specific focus on Mpumalanga, South Africa.
The literature review should cover the following themes:
Energy transition and post-coal futures
What has been written in the academic literature about the energy transition, coal phase-down, and post-coal development, particularly in South Africa and comparable coal-dependent regions?
SME and small-business transitions after coal decline
How have scholars analysed the role, vulnerability, adaptation, and transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises in coal-dependent economies undergoing transition?
Mine closure and social transitions
What does the literature say about mine closure, social disruption, community restructuring, livelihood change, and institutional responses in mining towns?
Unemployment and social harmony
How does unemployment affect social cohesion, social harmony, household stability, identity, trust, and local community relations in coal-dependent regions?
The review must be written in a formal academic style. It should not simply summarise sources, but critically compare arguments, identify key debates, assess gaps in the literature, and explain how the literature relates to socioeconomic change in Mpumalanga.
Please use Harvard-style referencing, including page numbers in all in-text citations wherever possible. A full bibliography must be included at the end.
No payment will be made if the Harvard tyle referencing, including page numbers is fake or not correct.
I will provide several academic papers as starting material where i already highlight certain things. Please only use sources that can be verified, and do not invent citations or page numbers. Page numbers are essential because all references will be checked.
